What is Fitness Coaching?
There is no one-size-fits-all fitness regimen that will work for everyone.
As your Fitness Coach, I will create a programme that takes the following into account:
- Your individual short- and long-term goals
- Your motivation
- Any existing health conditions or injuries.
Fitness Coaching can lead to better results than a more generic approach to fitness or going it alone because it is focussed on you and your personalised goals. Your Fitness Coach should help you build sustainable routines that lead to long term change, whilst also keeping it fun!
While some trainers may help you with short term goals like losing weight for an event, they’re likely to give less consideration to the rest of your life or to the sustainability of the approach after you reach your goal.
Working with me adds accountability, and the ability to keep moving forward with purpose and focus.
As your Fitness Coach, I am invested in your success. I will work to understand your strengths and weaknesses at the beginning of our relationship. This way, I can provide tailored motivation that resonates with you and nudges you along in the moments you need it most.
Is it for me?
There are zero downsides to including exercise and strength training in your life. Not only will it have you feeling and looking better, but it will future-proof your body, ensuring simple daily movement, balance, and activities are not a problem for you.
Exercise not only has huge benefits for the body, but it has proven benefits for the mind too – if you are able, there is simply no good reason not to build it into your routine.
You will NEVER regret making the effort! You ARE worth it!
So whether fitness has been part of your life and you fancy changing things up with some tailored support, or you’ve never exercised before but are keen to learn, I know I have a good solution for you!
Benefits of getting stronger and fitter
Regular physical activity and the benefits of exercise have long-term impacts, including the following:
- Better bone health
- Improved posture
- Improved hormone regulation
- Increased strength
- Reduced systemic inflammation
- Reduced risk of falling during old age
- Lower risk of several types of cancers
- Reduced risk of dementia during old age
- Lower risk of heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension
- The ability to age well.
Physical activity improves all aspects of your health, including your mental health. Exercise has many well established mental health benefits, including the following:
- Reduces levels of anxiety
- Reduces levels of depression
- Improved emotional regulation
- Better ability to cope with stress
- Improved sleep
- Improved self-esteem
- A more resilient mindset.
Exercise lowers your risk of depression, and increases your happiness. Physical activity increases the production of chemicals in your brain, like endorphins, dopamine, and adrenaline. These chemicals are associated with positive feelings like the following:
- Happiness
- Confidence
- Improved stress management
- Feeling more capable.
A good level of fitness and strength is a vital component of a happy, healthy life. It may be practiced in the gym, but it is applied to our everyday lives. A fitter, stronger version of you will not only look and feel better but will also be able to carry the kids to bed, chase after the grandchildren, carry in the ‘big shop’ in less trips to the car, say ‘yes’ to the hike your friends are doing in the Dales/Lakes, sign up for that run for charity, keep you travelling the world and seeing and doing new things for as long as possible, and simply move better with a confidence in your body’s ability to respond.
Sound good? Let’s go!
