Hello, and welcome!

I’m Debbie the founder of COACHED and I am so happy you are here today and curious about how working with me could help you realise more of your own potential!

For now, a little bit about me…

I am a CIMSPA registered, certified, fully insured Fitness Coach based in Scarborough, North Yorkshire.

I initially found fitness when I had my daughter (a ‘few’ years ago now!). I realised I needed to maintain a healthy body and mind if I was going to do my best by us of both.

I’ve tried lots of different fitness programmes and approaches over the years – classes, strength/resistance training, running solo, running in clubs, cycling solo, cycling in groups, walking. I have also tried various approaches to nutritional management, not always successfully and in retrospect not always healthily! Today, I have a healthy relationship with my body and with food, which is something I haven’t always been able to say.

Unlike many Fitness Coaches and Personal Trainers I was never sporty at school and I believe my experience of just being a ‘fitness qualified human being’ with lots of life experience puts me in a great position to meet you wherever you are now, to understand the journey you’ve been on, and the changes you’re looking to make to get where you want to go.

Consistently looking after my health and fitness has enabled me not only to be healthier and happier, but also to say ‘yes’ to participating in lots of events and activities over the years, some for charity, others for fun and some just for the personal challenge. Ultimately just having confidence that my body is up to the challenges that I decide I want to take on.

Now in my 40’s my main aim is to protect and preserve my ‘first foundations and the key pillars of a healthy happy life’ – quality sleep, movement/exercise, nutrition, and relationships whilst also being able to be professionally productive. I see the importance of maintaining my strength as I grow older to support a high quality, happy and fulfilled life for as long as possible. Vitality and longevity being two fundamentals to my approach to personal training.

I live in Scarborough with my husband Darren, we have three children (well… they’re all grown ups really!) and as well as my human children we have a little dog Ruby who we all love very much. I am a lover of all things nature and wildlife, never happier than out walking Ruby in the wonderful open spaces we are so lucky to have so close by in Scarborough.

The majority of my career has been spent working in various non-clinical roles within the NHS.

Having worked within the NHS for 25 years I have seen first hand how troublesome our fading fitness can be to us and our loved ones as we grow older. We don’t need to accept this as the inevitable!
